Ok..so I have to eat some crow here because the groundhog was apparently right about 6 more weeks of winter. It comes with no surprise to those that live in the Clark's Summit Pennsylvania area that we got BURIED with snow. The "storm of 2010" as it will be remembered gave me 24 inches of the heavy white stuff. My 10 horsepower MTD snow blower with a 20 inch tall scoop was literally choking at full throttle trying to get a bite out of the drifts.
I could not help but wonder how great it would have been for winter camping? Given the proper tens, bags and other gear winter camping is not only possible but can be great fun.As it stands I plan to do some snowshoe trekking with my chocolate Labrador Sam next week if he can manage to push through the deep snow or follow my track.
